Hi and welcome to my article about Windows 7 Ultimate and why I have decided to use it over Mac Os X. So, let's start!
We all know that Microsoft has held the computer market industry since I was born. I remember playing with Windows 3.0 when I was only a child. All those years of Microsoft holding the number one spot has really made me shy away from the other brands. Why? Well when I first fell in love with computers, I learned using Windows. I even got an MCSA certification with Microsoft. So, to say that Microsoft Operating Software has held a high mantle in my learning of computer software is an understatement.
After I left school I decided that I wanted to work with computers, well that's not true, as I wanted to work with computers when I was around the age of twelve. But, when I did leave school I jumped at the chance to learn as much as I could about Microsoft operating software and application software. Eventually, achieving my MCSE which is called Microsoft Certified Software Engineer for those who didn't know the terminology, smiles!
That's enough of history so let's get on with it shall we! Windows 7, as we know Windows 7 is the successor to Windows Vista and Vista is the successor to the much hated Windows XP. We all know Windows XP had its major faults when it was first released and had to have so many updates it was a big no to have installed on your computer. I remember being asked what operating system are you running? And when I said XP, I got the looks of why!
Windows 7 was released a few years ago and I only just purchased it, and I love it! Why you might ask? Well I have been rocking Windows XP like forever, and I needed to replace my current operating system with a newer one. I live in Japan and I do a lot of work from my computer, so I needed an operating system that I could change between English and Japanese.
At the time I was unsure which manufacture I wanted to buy from. Was I going to continue down the road as a pledged Microsoft fan or should I go for something different? I do have a friend who is a fanatic about Linux, but I wasnet and still not interested in it, maybe in the future when I have some time I might play with it.
Next I looked at was Apple Mac, I was interested in what they offered at first with their
Max Os X software. The new Leopard software caught my eye and I was just about to buy it when I had withdrawal syndrome. Yes, I wanted something that was from Microsoft!
So, I purchased Windows 7! I missed Vista, and decided to upgrade to Ultimate using Windows Anytime Upgrade. I was impressed with how easy and straightforward it was.
I missed installing Vista because I never had any interest in it. Yes, I played around with it when it was first released, but I never fell in love with it. Plus I believed Vista was going to be another XP at the beginning, release problems and endless service pack downloads that had to be installed. So, I waited and clung to my XP platform.
So why do I recommend Windows 7?
Apart from the sleek design and animated backgrounds, Windows 7 focuses more on software application and hardware compatibility. Anything that you want to use, new or old, is sure to work with windows 7. All of the features that usually come with a Windows product were not included. Windows Calendar, Windows Mail, Windows Movie Maker, and Windows Photo Gallery, are offered separately at no charge as part of the Windows Live Essentials suite that can be downloaded with live Updates. This is because Windows 7 is designed to be faster on loading up and running applications. The last point is the ease at how you can change the base and application languages, which I give a thumbs up!
I hope you enjoyed my article and continue to read them as they come.
